Questel•Orbit Releases FamPat "The Invention at the Heart of the Family"
On 1 February 2005, Questel•Orbit announced the release of FamPat, its new international patent family database. FamPat is based on PlusPat, Questel•Orbit’s well-known international patent database.
“FamPat represents a breakthrough in patent family databases,” states Charles Besson, Questel•Orbit’s CEO, “by offering greater searching options as well as the added display convenience of family records.” The FamPat patent family design groups together the patent records from the countries and patent issuing authorities in which protection for one particular invention has been applied for and/or granted. FamPat upholds the family spirit by considering the invention as the sole criterion.
