WIPO: Further Updates
Palestine: It has been reported on various sites that Palestine has become an observer member to the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO)
Bahrain: The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) announced on 29 September 2005 that Bahrain has deposited its instrument of accession to a number of WIPO agreements and treaties including
- the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks, adopted in Madrid on June 27, 1989 (Madrid Protocol).
- The Nice Agreement Concerning the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks of June 15, 1957, as revised in Stockholm on July 14, 1967, and in Geneva on May 13, 1977, and amended on September 28, 1979.
- The Patent Law Treaty (PLT), adopted in Geneva on June 1, 2000.
- WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT), adopted in Geneva on December 20, 1996.
- WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty (WPPT), adopted in Geneva on December 20, 1996.
The treaties and agreements will enter into force, with respect to the Kingdom of Bahrain, on 15 December 2005.
