The German Patent and Trademark Office
(Deutschen Patent- und Markenamt (DPMA)) DEPATISnet website provides
access to a worldwide patent collections.
DEPATISnet provides free searching,
including family searches and document
delivery. Assisted searches are also
available - queries can be sent direct to
the German Patent Information Centre. The
site is current in English and German.
- DPINFO
The DPINFO site allows searching
of patents, trademarks and designs in the
DPMA database. It also provides current
status information. The site is in German
and user registration is required.

Patent Database
The German
Patent Database hosted on the
DPMApatentblatt website contains the
original data from the German Patent and
Trademark Office (DPMA) from the last 24
months starting from January 1997 (in
English). The types of documents
searchable are: OS-German Patent
applications; PS-German Patent
Specification; GM-German Utility Model;
EP-European Applications including
Germany as a designated State;
WO-International Patent applications
according to PCT; ZE-German Protection
Certificates for Medicines and
Fertilizers; TO-German IC Topographies;
DD-German Patent applications and patents
originating in former East-Germany.
- DPMApublikationen
The DPMApublikationen
database hosted
on the DPMA website contains the DPMA
official publications, ie Patentblatt
(patent gazette), Markenblatt (trade mark
journal) and Geschmacksmusterblatt
(designs gazette) exclusively in .pdf
electronic form. This database will be
available on 1 January 2004.
- JURGE
The German Jurisprudence Database is
hosted on the Questel-Orbit
Network. This database provides
coverage of German Jurisprudence in which
a patent or trademark is involved.($)
- PATDPA
The PATDPA
Database is hosted on the STN
Network. The database covers
bibliographic and legal status
information for patent documents and
utility models published by Deutsches
Patent- und Markenamt (German Patent- and
Trademark-Office), the European Patent
Office and the World Intellectual
Property Organization (WIPO) designated
for the Federal Republic of Germany.($)

Network. The database contains extracts

higher Federal authority which is
responsible to the Federal Ministry of
Economics. As part of the relocation of
the Federal Government the
Bundeskartellamt moved from Berlin to
Bonn. The main task of the
Bundeskartellamt is to apply the Act
